AMAZING GRACE IDEA & CONCEPT

AMAZING GRACE VISION & MISSION

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.” (Matt 5:14)
“Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy,  noble and good deeds and recognize and honour and praise and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”
(Matt 5:16)

Our Vision
Our Vision is to become an exemplary Community Center of excellence that creates and cultivates an atmosphere of unconditional love and a culture of moral and service excellence within the community so that man be  inspired and God The Almighty glorified.
Our Mission
I - To promote and provide an environment conducive to and for the purpose of, the advancement of family values, personal  moral and spiritual values and strengthening friendship and family ties  through organizing a wide range of activities such as educational, social, recreational, cultural and spiritual nourishment activities including sports, enrichment courses, culinary skills, music and drama, outings, gatherings, celebration services, workshops, talks, seminars and doing all such other things that are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above.
II - To promote a peace loving and caring culture community that support global peace including inter-racial and inter-cultural, inter-denominational and inter-religion and promote a caring attitude of serving and meeting the needs and welfare of other people who are less fortunate by contributing to their needs such as the homeless, orphans, senior citizens, single mothers, destitute and doing all such other things that are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above.

1.         Advancement of Family Values – We want to build strong families with husband as the head of the family (Ephesian 5:23) and who is responsible to love his wife (Ephesian 5:25) and bring his children up in the training and instruction of the Lord (Ephesian 6:4). The wife is to respect and submit to her husband as to the Lord (Ephesian 5:22). The children are to obey and honour their parents (Ephesian 6:1-2). We believe when the family is strong, the nation will be strong.

2.         Personal Moral Values – We want to build a strong godly and moral excellence character in our community (James 1:21) so that they may attain the whole measure of the fullness of Christ (Ephesian 4:13) and bearing the fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22)

3.         Spiritual Values – We recognize that we are a tripartite being having a spirit, soul and body (1 Thessalonians 5:23). Just as our physical body needs to be nourished with physical food, our spirit also needs to be nourished with spiritual food (Hebrews 5:14) so that we can continually grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18) and become mature (Ephesian 4:13)

4.         Strengthening  of Friendship and Family Ties – We want to build strong relationships within a family and build strong relationships with others in an atmosphere of unconditional love so that we can all co-exist in love and harmony with one another (1 Peter 3:8).

Our Core Values (“What We Believe”)

1.         Loyalty to Vision – We believe that we should be united behind a single vision and we believe that the role of the management team is to help champion the vision with one mind (1 Chronicles 12:33).  We believe that we should collectively use our talents, abilities and financial resources to achieve this vision.

2.         Accountability – We believe all members and leaders are to walk under submission and accountability to leaders above them (Hebrews 13:17). God has given us leaders to provide a spiritual covering for us by giving us godly counsel so that we will be protected from deception or error (Proverbs 12:15, 19:20, Acts 27:11). Every office bearer is held accountable to someone else and above all accountable to God.

3.         Priesthood of Believers – We believe that God has deposited gifts and abilities to every believer (1 Corinthians 12:11) that needs to be nurtured and released for the strengthening, encouragement and comfort (1 Corinthians 14:3) of the Body. Every leader has the responsibility of urging their members to fulfill their calling (Ephesians 4:1) and glorious destiny by identifying the gifts and calling of their members and releasing them into ministry. Every member are to be eager to have spiritual gifts and excel in such gifts to build up the Body (1 Corinthians 14:12).

4.         Team Work Ministry – We believe that the God given vision cannot be fulfilled by one person. We believe we are parts of a Body (1 Corinthians 12:27) where each part carry out their respective roles so that the body grows healthily (Ephesians 4:16). We work with a passionate belief in a common goal.

5.         Equal Sacrifice – We believe that if we are to see God’s vision for AGCC come to pass, sacrifices will need to be made (2 Samuel 24:24). However, we believe that the leaders are not the only ones who are to pay the price to carry the burden in order to see our God given vision is being fulfilled (2 Chronicles 7:4). This should be the commitment of every member as well (Galatians 6:2). We stand as “ONE” (1 Corinthians 1:10) when we go through times of failure or success, defeat or victory, in valley experiences or mountain top experiences. We trust God that He has the best plans for us (Jeremiah 29:11) and TOGETHER we are determined to see these plans come to pass.

6.         People Matter – We believe that people and their families are the “core-business” of AGCC. Ministries are established to serve and meet the needs of people (Mark 6:34). We also believe that we should look into the welfare of members and people in the community by contributing to the needs of those who are less fortunate than us (Deuteronomy 15:11, James 1:27).

7.         Reproducing Ourselves – We believe that our model in establishing strong friendship and families in a community can be replicated within our country and nations (Mathew 28:19). Our goal is to establish as many centers as possible (John 21:11) which has a common spiritual DNA to us in the long term.

8.         Good Corporate Citizens – We believe that all governments are instituted by God and we are to submit to the governmental authority and laws of the country (1 Peter 2:13) and be good corporate citizens contributing to living in peace and harmony with everyone in all godliness and holiness (1 Timothy 2:2) for this pleases God.

Our Culture (“How We Do Things”)

1.         Spirit of Excellence – We believe that when we do things, we do so with an excellence spirit so that when others see the good and excellent things that we do, they will glorify our Father in Heaven (Mathew 5:16). With the spirit of excellence we can make a remarkable difference. The beauty that excellence produces must be evident in our homes, businesses, communities and workplaces. Our environment, operations and celebration services must all reflect this noble virtue.

2.         With Faith – We believe that when God calls us to do something, it is often beyond our capabilities. We need to have faith in God because without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). We believe that with God nothing is impossible (Mathew 19:26). We recognize that faith without action is useless (James 2:17). We therefore need to walk the talk.

3.         A Positive Attitude – We believe that when we undertake a task we need to do so with a positive attitude without complaining or giving excuses (Philippians 2:14). We want to be a Community Center consisting of positively minded people as it is much more fun to work with positive than negative people. Our positive attitude causes us to ask “Why not?” rather than “Why”. It is not about being blind to the facts but it is a culture where we start with the positive rather than the negative. When we work we need to work with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord (Colossians 3:22). We know that our labour in the Lord will never be in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58). God rewards even the least of our works, for example, by giving someone a glass of water to drink (Mark 9:41).

4.         Integrity – We believe that when we do things, we must do so with integrity because God is pleased with integrity (1 Chronicles 29:17). We need to have integrity in our relationships, when handling finances, confidential information, vows or pledges made.

5.         Zeal – We believe that when we do things, we must do so with zeal (Romans 12:11). We should do things pro-actively and with initiative. In other words, we will do something that needs to be done even before being asked to do so.

6.         Servant Hood – We believe that when we do things, we need to do so with a servant’s heart. We are quick to respond and ready to serve. We place the interests of others above our own interests (Philippians 2:3-4). We are not here to impress but to impart, to love others and not to lord over them. In serving others we adopt a posture of humility just as Christ did (Philippians 2:5-8).
7.         Time Management – We believe in effective time management. We believe that we should not regularly put things off to another day what can be done today. Procrastinating leads to missed deadlines, rushed work and a consequent loss of quality, all with high potential for impact on other deadliness. We also believe in prioritizing our work that achieves our goals. Doing the most important tasks gives you the biggest payback in time investment. We believe also in being good stewards of our time. We believe that being punctual for functions especially Celebration Services is one of the ways we honour and respect God. In fact that we believe that punctuality should be a lifestyle of every member on all occasions as this is one of the ways that we honour and respect everyone’s time (1 Peter 2:17). Being late regularly for meetings is an all time “time-washer” for everyone else who is early.

8.         Commitment – We believe that those who are planted in a community of Godly environment will flourish (Psalm 92:13). We encourage every member to commit to the weekly fellowships and meetings (Hebrews 10:25). We believe that each time we meet, we are living stones joined together to form a spiritual house (1 Peter 2:5) where God dwells by His Spirit. When we fellowship with one another, Christ is in our midst (Mathew 18:20). We believe God blesses His people when they come and stand together as “ONE” (Psalm 133:1-3).

9.         Appreciation – We recognize that at the end of every project or accomplishment of major milestones, we will not only just celebrate the results but we will rejoice in our relationships. We appreciate the contribution of every team member, big or small, in making the project a success. We appreciate team members by congratulating them and speaking words of praise and encouragement to them (1 Thessalonians 1:2-3) and cheering them on! Team members feel highly regarded within the team.

Our Foundation (“With What Do We Build”)

1.         Chief Cornerstone – We believe that AGCC is to be built on the foundation God’s Word with Christ as the Chief Cornerstone (Ephesians 2:19). We believe that Christ is the Living Word of God (John 1:14) and the Cornerstone by whom we take our bearings.

2.         Strong Pulpit Ministry – We believe that to build a Community Center that is spiritually strong, we need to have a strong pulpit ministry where the Word of God is taught and preach in order to teach, rebuke, correct and train in all righteousness so that every member may be prepared for every good works (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

3.         Powerful Prayer – We believe in the power of prayer. We believe that Christ is the vine and we are the branches. Apart from Him we can do nothing (John 15:4). We believe that the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective (James 5:16).

4.         Atmosphere of Worship – We believe that when God’s people worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:24), He will inhabit the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3). We desire that in each meeting and Celebration Service, the presence of God is cultivated during the time of praise and worship. We believe that when people have an encounter with the living God, their lives will be transformed (Isaiah 6:1-8).

5.         Fellowship of Love – We believe that God has made all Man in His image and likeness (Genesis 1:26). We therefore choose to fellowship in love with all God’s people where there is no discrimination along cultural, gender or racial lines (Galatians 3:28). As we unconditionally love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, we also unconditionally love others as ourselves (Mark 12:30-31)

6.         Pure Heart – We believe that we are a Holy Nation, a Royal Priesthood (1 Peter 2:29). We believe we are called to build and serve the house of God with clean hands and pure heart (Psalm 24:3-4)

7.         Spiritual Gifts – We believe that God builds through the use of spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 14:12). We believe it is the Holy Spirit who determines the spiritual gifts each person should have (1 Corinthians 12:11). We therefore need to recognize this and release members to use spiritual gifts to build up the local Body (1 Corinthians 12:21-26).

8.         Natural Talents – We believe we are stewards of the natural talents God has given to us and we use these artistic abilities to help us achieve excellence which glorifies God and inspires man (Exodus 35:30-35).

9.         Encouragement – We believe that words of encouragement will build (Ephesians 4:29, Acts 15:32) while words of discouragement will tear down. We recognize that excellence is not perfection but is defined as when we are using all that God has deposited in us to the maximum capacity for God’s glory and the edification of men. So if someone has tried their best, this is good enough for us to give them a “thumbs up” or a “pat on their back” for a job well done!.
